what to do with those pigeons?

In the MC office my desk is just in front of the windows to the balcony and in the last days there where always two pigeons sitting there, looking around and finally bringing some tree branches here.
Well we found out, they built a nest, a nest in a big empty flower pot... I kind of did not dare to destroy it because they birds put so much effort into building it..

Today there was always one bird sitting in the pot, I had a look and voila there is an egg now...

So we have to think do we want to keep the pigeons or should the new MC team decide ;)

If you have any thoughts on it.. we could not decide by now...

;)

hi Gudrun,

I just discovered yours and others weblogs! Very nice!
I would just let those pidgeons raise their children there. They must have a place to do that too. And it will be amazing to see the pidgeons grow. About the dirt: Maybe they clean the place where they live?

Hey Gudrun!
Man, concerning pigeons all my morality fails, and I conceive some really nasty thoughts... They are vermin, dirty, have flees, diseases, etc etc etc. simply disgusting... and they do NOT clean after themselves, trust me, I had a pigeon nest once on my balcony, and it was the biggest mess I have ever seen a wild animal live in. Sorry all pigeon lovers, but there won't be any of these "rats with wings" where I work... ;-)

Hi everyone!

Well, haha, I too, have a pigeon's nest in front of my window!!! I first thought, darn, how I get them to leave, but there are two eggs there already, so too late...but somehow it's cute, that bird just sits there on those eggs, is quiet all the time, hardly looks at me, and once in a while her/his companion stops by to make a little noise, that's all...but oh dear, if they don't clean up afterwards, and I can only imagine the noise once those eggs are hatched :-s We'll see...Bee, you must really hate mice and pigeons by now huh? :-D

Is AIESEC an animal-friendly association? but it's true, they're gonna make some dirt, and who will clean that, any volunteers from the new team? ;-)
oh, and I haven't really seen pigeons here, but I can bring a rat home, they're only the size of a cat or so... :-D

hello Gudrun,
i've just discovered your blog! and i enjoyed reading it

well, the pigeons... i am not really happy about the mess, but on the other hand not strong enough to just kill the egg...

no special anti-pigeon feelings so far, even though once, when i was in london visiting my aut, crossing the traffalgar square.... well, let's put it that way, that i just had a little accident in my hair...

anyways, we'll see how things are progressing...

bis bald!
